The Decoy Tachi Pike features a step wire assist system designed to provide easy and secure hooking of sharp-toothed species like Pacific saury, bonito, and mackerel, with a particular focus on Pacific bluefin tuna. The wire used in this system strikes the perfect balance between tension and flexibility, ensuring smooth performance from bite to hookset without obstruction. Its durability is robust enough to handle large Pacific bluefin tuna and saury without risk of being severed. The assist wire is made of 49 strands of Yori SUS304 wire, delivering the strength needed for tough conditions. The hooks used are the Pike AS-03, selected for their fast and efficient hooking action, positioned at the step. This step design aligns with the distinctive biting strike behaviour of Pacific bluefin tuna, significantly improving the success rate of hooksets. This setup is effective for both front and rear hook applications.
