The Daiwa 21 Caldia LT reel is built around the Light Tough (LT) concept, aiming to reduce the reel's size while maintaining robust power. This new series introduces significant upgrades over its predecessor, marking it as a truly different reel. One standout feature of the new Caldia is its Monocoque Body, inspired by the engineering principles of Formula 1 cars. This monolithic design allows for greater strength and efficiency. The Tough Digigear system has been optimised to fill the entire reel body, enhancing both performance and power. Constructed from advanced Zaion composite material, the body and rotor are not only lighter but also more durable. Additionally, the reel features Daiwa's patented Magsealed system, which utilises ferrofluid-based magnetic oil to protect the mechanism from water, dirt, and debris, ensuring long-lasting smooth operation. The Long Cast-ABS spool, with a newly designed lip, increases casting distance by approximately 5%, while the Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) system ensures quick response and optimal drag performance. The reel is equipped with a lightweight aluminum handle, screwed directly into the main gear to eliminate handle play and provide a more solid feel.
