The Shimano Exsence DC SS is a saltwater-specific baitcaster in the 150 size, serving as the smaller sibling of the Curado DC 200 and a brake-modified version of the Scorpion DC 21. It is designed to cast minnow and vibration baits weighing between 7-28g using braided lines, making it ideal for seabass fishing.Compared to the Scorpion DC, the Exsence DC SS features a modified braking system specifically tuned for these baits, resulting in better casting performance due to reduced air drag. The i-DC4 braking system offers four simple dial settings: 1, 2, 3, and F. Settings 1 to 3 progressively increase braking for use with braided and nylon lines, while the F setting is optimised for fluorocarbon lines, providing maximum braking.The reel’s body is made of aluminum alloy for solid performance, and it features a spool size of 34mm in diameter and 25mm in width.
